Georgios Vrakas just added a WSOP Circuit ring to his résumé. The Greek player topped the €1,500 Main Event field at King's Casino Rozvadov, taking home €164,000 and the hardware that comes with it.
The Quick Hit
- Winner: Georgios Vrakas (Greece)
- Prize: €164,000 + WSOPC ring
- Event: €1,500 Main Event, €1,000,000 GTD
- Heads-up opponent: José Gómez Casillas (Spain)
- Final table: Seven different nationalities represented
The Victory
Vrakas isn't new to big scores. He previously won PokerStars National Championship events in Barcelona and Prague back in 2017, cashing for €330,000 and €338,000 respectively. But a Circuit ring had eluded him until now.
The final table at King's Casino featured seven different nationalities across eight players—a reminder that European poker attracts talent from everywhere. Local favorites Roman Papáček and Zdeněk Žižka finished fourth and seventh respectively, giving the Czech crowd something to cheer about even without the top prize.
Vrakas entered the final day trailing chipleader Casillas but found the right spots to grind his way to victory. The heads-up battle was competitive before Vrakas closed it out to claim the €1 million guaranteed Main Event.
WSOPC 2026 Season
The Rozvadov stop ran January 1-13 and featured 12 ring events across 13 days of action. It was one of the first stops on the new calendar-year Circuit schedule that WSOP announced last month.
Under the new format, all ring winners receive a $5,000 package to WSOP Paradise 2026, including tournament buy-in and hotel accommodations. That's a nice bonus on top of the prize money.
Darren Rabinowitz shipped the Planet Hollywood Main Event earlier this month for his fifth Circuit ring, while Kathy Liebert claimed her second ring at age 57 to prove you're never too old for this game.
What's Next
The WSOPC continues throughout 2026 with stops across the US and internationally. The format shift to a calendar-year schedule means the points race starts fresh in January rather than the previous October-September cycle.
For Vrakas, the €164,000 score plus the Paradise package makes this a valuable win. The Circuit has become a legitimate tour for grinders who can't justify the summer WSOP bracelet event buy-ins but want to compete for meaningful hardware.
King's Casino in Rozvadov has established itself as a premier European poker destination. The facility hosts multiple major series throughout the year and draws fields from across the continent.
The Bottom Line
Georgios Vrakas got his ring. Seven nationalities at the final table showed the international appeal of European Circuit stops. And €164,000 plus a Paradise package isn't a bad way to start 2026.
The WSOPC's calendar-year pivot is working. Ring events are getting action, main events are hitting guarantees, and players are showing up. The tour is healthy.
Congratulations to Vrakas on the victory.
