The Afternoon Slate (1:00 PM ET)
Cardinals at Bengals (-7.5) | O/U 53.5
Cincinnati's offense finally remembered how to score. They dropped 45 on Miami last week and now face an Arizona defense that's been bleeding points since October — 31.8 per game allowed since Week 6, worst in the league.
Ja'Marr Chase has hit 90+ receiving yards in all six home games this season. He's hit 100 in five of those. The Cardinals have lost seven straight. This feels like a spot where Cincy just runs away with it.
The play: Bengals -7.5. They cover comfortably.
Buccaneers (-6) vs Dolphins | O/U 45.5
Tampa needs this one for division positioning, and Miami has mentally checked out. The Dolphins are allowing nearly 30 points per game over their last four. Baker Mayfield should have a field day.
The play: Bucs -6, but the total is interesting. The under has hit in four of Miami's last five.
Jaguars (-5.5) at Colts | O/U 43
Jacksonville is somehow still alive for the division after last week's statement win against Denver. Indy's playoff hopes are barely hanging on. Trevor Lawrence has been playing his best football of the season.
The play: Jags -5.5. Ride the hot hand.
Steelers (-4.5) vs Browns | O/U 40.5
Pittsburgh needs wins to secure their playoff spot. Cleveland is... Cleveland. The total is low for a reason — both defenses are solid, and the weather in Pittsburgh could be a factor.
The play: Under 40.5. This game is going to be ugly.
Seahawks (-7) at Panthers | O/U 42.5
Seattle is fighting for a wild card spot. Carolina is fighting for draft position. This spread seems right, but laying a touchdown on the road against a divisional opponent always feels dangerous.
The play: Seahawks ML if you want action. The -7 is too rich for my blood.
The Late Window (4:25 PM ET)
Eagles at Bills (-2.5) | O/U 51.5
This is the game. Super Bowl preview vibes. Two of the five best teams in football going head to head.
The Bills' defense has a Saquon Barkley problem. Buffalo ranks 31st in defensive rush EPA and is allowing 144 rushing yards per game. They've given up a league-high 18 rushing touchdowns. Saquon has been averaging 120+ yards in two of his last three games.
But Josh Allen at home in December is a different animal. He's won 12 straight regular-season home games in December/January dating back to 2021. That's not a typo. Twelve straight.
The Eagles are 5-0 outright as underdogs since the start of last season. Buffalo is just 7-8 ATS this year.
The play: This is a coin flip game. Take the points with Philly +2.5 and enjoy the show.
Titans at Saints (-3) | O/U 37.5
Two bad teams. Low total. Not much to see here unless you're desperate for action. The under has hit in the Saints' last four home games.
The play: Under 37.5.
The Late Afternoon Games (4:05 PM ET)
Jets vs Patriots (-3) | O/U 39.5
Wait, the Patriots are 12-3? And they're only laying 3 at home against the Jets?
New England has been the most surprising team in football this season. The Jets are 3-12 and have a rookie QB getting experience. The line has moved from Patriots -4.5 to -3 — sharp money is on the Jets.
The play: This is a stay-away for me. The line movement is suspicious.
Raiders vs Giants (-1) | O/U 41
Two teams playing out the string. The Giants are slight favorites at home, but neither team has given anyone a reason to believe in them. Flip a coin.
The play: Skip it.
Sunday Night Football (8:20 PM ET)
Bears at 49ers (-3.5) | O/U 47.5
Both teams are 11-4. Both are fighting for the NFC's top seed. This is appointment television.
The Bears have been one of the best stories in football this season. Caleb Williams has developed into a genuine franchise quarterback, and the defense has been stout. But going into San Francisco and beating the Niners on primetime is a tough ask.
The 49ers are desperate after last week's close call. Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, and Deebo Samuel should be able to move the ball on Chicago's secondary.
The play: 49ers -3.5. Home field, better roster, and more playoff experience.
The Bottom Line
Week 17 is chaos, and that's exactly how we like it. The Bills-Eagles game is the marquee matchup, but don't sleep on Bears-49ers if you're looking for value on primetime.
Keep your bankroll tight, your parlays short, and remember: in Week 17, nothing makes sense until it does. Let's ride.
