The NBA crosses the Atlantic again today as the Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies square off at The O2 Arena in London. It's the league's 10th regular-season game in the UK and the second of this year's Europe Games—these teams met in Berlin earlier this week.

The Quick Hit

  • Tipoff: Noon ET (5:00 PM GMT)
  • Spread: Magic -4.5
  • Total: 231.5
  • Key update: Ja Morant (calf) is probable after missing Berlin
  • Previous meeting: Orlando won 118-111 on Wednesday

The Berlin Rematch

The Magic took the first game 118-111 in Germany on Wednesday. Paolo Banchero led Orlando with 26 points. Jaren Jackson Jr. paced Memphis with 30. The Grizzlies played without Ja Morant, who sat with a calf injury.

That changes today. Morant is listed as probable and expected to play after missing the midweek matchup. Getting your franchise point guard back for a game on international television? That matters.

The Records

Orlando comes in at 23-18, good for fifth in the Eastern Conference. They're playing solid, consistent basketball behind Banchero and a supporting cast that's found its rhythm.

Memphis is struggling at 17-23, sitting 11th in the West. The Grizzlies have been one of the league's most frustrating teams to bet on—talented enough to compete with anyone, inconsistent enough to lose to anyone.

Without Morant, Memphis has dropped 24 of 26 games against teams over .500. With him, they're a different proposition.

The European Flavor

Both rosters feature European talent that adds to the London atmosphere. Orlando has Goga Bitadze (Georgia), Noah Penda (France), and the Wagner brothers (Germany). Memphis counters with Santi Aldama (Spain).

Franz Wagner led Orlando with 18 points and nine rebounds in Berlin—his first game in more than a month after returning from injury. If he's fully healthy and shaking off rust, the Magic become an even tougher matchup.

The Betting Angle

The Magic are 4.5-point favorites, which feels about right given the recent head-to-head and Morant's uncertain status. If Ja plays and looks healthy, that number shrinks in value. If he's limited or sits again, Orlando should cover comfortably.

The total at 231.5 is interesting. Berlin hit the over (combined 229 points), but that was without Morant's scoring and transition game. His presence could push the pace even higher.

The London Angle

These international games can be weird. Jet lag affects both teams, though they've been in Europe all week. The atmosphere at The O2 is different from any NBA arena. Players sometimes look either energized or flat in the unique environment.

The Magic handled the adjustment better in Berlin. Whether that continues in London is anyone's guess.

The Bottom Line

It's noon basketball on a Sunday, which means you've got action before the NFL games even start. Orlando has been the better team all season and proved it on Wednesday. Unless Morant returns at full strength and flips the script, lay the 4.5 with the Magic.
