Super Bowl week officially starts, which means the NBA slate gets thin. Monday brings just four games, but there's action to be found if you know where to look.

The marquee spots: Houston is laying 5.5 at Indiana, and Minnesota is a massive 7.5-point road favorite in Memphis. Both lines feel aggressive, which usually means the books know something we don't.

The Quick Hit

  • What happened: Light NBA Monday slate with four games
  • The damage: Rockets -5.5 at IND, Wolves -7.5 at MEM, Clippers -2.5 vs PHI
  • Why you should care: Small slates mean concentrated action and sharp line movement
  • The move: Watch for early line movement before the money piles in

Houston Rockets at Indiana Pacers (-5.5)

Game Time: 7:00 PM ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse

The Rockets (30-17) are rolling. Houston comes in winners of four straight and has quietly become one of the league's most consistent teams. The Pacers (13-36) are the exact opposite—a disaster of a franchise that's somehow won three straight at home.

The line opened around Rockets -5 and has ticked up to -5.5 at most books. That suggests money is coming in on Houston, which makes sense given the talent disparity.

These teams played in December. Houston won 126-119 behind 30 points from Kevin Durant. Pascal Siakam had 23 for Indiana in the loss.

The numbers: Houston has a 75.08% projected win probability according to most models. That's about right for a 5.5-point spread. The Pacers' three-game home streak feels fluky against this level of opponent.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Minnesota Timberwolves (-7.5)

Game Time: 8:00 PM ET at FedExForum

Minnesota (31-19) has won four straight and is playing some of their best basketball of the season. Memphis (18-29) is stuck in no-man's-land—too good for a top lottery pick, not good enough to matter.

The 7.5-point spread feels steep for a road team, but the Wolves have earned it. Anthony Edwards is averaging 29.4 points with a ridiculous 40.9% from three over this stretch. When he's cooking, Minnesota is legitimately dangerous.

Jaren Jackson Jr. leads Memphis with 19 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He'll need to be special for the Grizzlies to stay within the number.

The angle: Minnesota is 65.59% to win outright. Laying 7.5 on the road still feels like a lot, especially against a Memphis team that can get hot at home. This line screams "teaser" more than "straight bet."

Charlotte Hornets vs New Orleans Pelicans

Game Time: 7:00 PM ET at Spectrum Center

The Hornets (21-28) host the Pelicans (12-37) in what might be the least interesting game of the night from a national perspective. Charlotte just beat the Mavericks 123-121. New Orleans lost to the Thunder 104-95.

This game exists primarily for local bettors and people who enjoy watching lottery teams figure out their draft positioning. The Hornets should win at home, but the spread (around -4.5) feels appropriately cautious.

Philadelphia 76ers at Los Angeles Clippers (-2.5)

Game Time: 10:00 PM ET at Intuit Dome

The late game brings some intrigue. The Clippers (projecting 51.90% win probability) are slight home favorites against a Philly team that has been absolute garbage in February historically—0-9 SU in their last nine February games.

LA is 10-2 SU in their last 12 games. Philly is 14-6 ATS in their last 20 games against the Clippers, which suggests the historical edge might not matter as much as recent form.

The total is set around 220.5. Both teams can score in bunches, so this has potential to go over if the pace stays up.

Best Bets

Houston -5.5 at Indiana: The Rockets are the better team by a significant margin. Indiana's home streak is fool's gold against quality opponents. Lay the points.

Wolves/Grizzlies Under: Minnesota's defense has been solid during this streak. Memphis doesn't have the firepower to push pace against a motivated Wolves team. Look for a grind-it-out affair.

Clippers -2.5: Philly's February curse is a real thing. LA is playing well at home. Take the home dog and don't overthink it.

The Bottom Line

Four games, minimal drama, plenty of betting opportunities. The Rockets and Wolves should handle business as favorites, but the spreads are aggressive enough to make you think twice.

With Super Bowl week dominating the sports landscape, NBA bettors need to find value where they can. Tonight's slate isn't sexy, but there's money to be made if you pick your spots carefully.
