The NBA doesn't take days off, and neither do we.

After a loaded Christmas Day slate that gave us Jokic's 56-point triple-double and the Knicks' 17-point comeback, Saturday brings eight more games. The star power is slightly lower, but the betting angles are just as sharp.

The Quick Hit

  • Games on tap: Eight NBA matchups on Saturday, December 27
  • Featured games: Knicks at Hawks, Mavericks at Kings, Timberwolves at Nets
  • Why you should care: Post-Christmas spots can create value as teams deal with fatigue
  • The angles: Look for tired legs and inflated totals

The Marquee Games

New York Knicks at Atlanta Hawks (8:00 PM ET)

Line: Knicks -6 | Total: 232.5

The Knicks are coming off one of the best wins of their season — a 17-point Christmas Day comeback against Cleveland. Jalen Brunson dropped 34 points, and New York shot 47.7% from three to complete the rally.

Atlanta is... not that. The Hawks are hovering around .500 and haven't shown they can hang with elite teams. Trae Young is always dangerous, but the defense is porous and the supporting cast is inconsistent.

The Knicks have been one of the better road teams in the league, and they just got a massive confidence boost. Six points is a lot to lay, but New York should control this game.

Lean: Knicks -6

Dallas Mavericks at Sacramento Kings (5:00 PM ET)

Line: Mavericks -3 | Total: 229.5

This is the Cooper Flagg game. The rookie sensation dropped 27 points in his Christmas Day debut against Golden State, looking every bit like the future #1 pick the world expected. Two games ago, he scored 30.

Dallas (12-20) is struggling, but Flagg has been the bright spot. Sacramento (7-23) is even worse, and the Kings have been a mess all season. Neither team is playing for anything meaningful, which makes this a pure talent matchup.

Flagg is the best player on the floor. That matters.

Lean: Mavericks -3

Minnesota Timberwolves at Brooklyn Nets (8:00 PM ET)

Line: Timberwolves -10.5 | Total: 223.5

This is the blowout special.

Minnesota (20-11) is one of the better teams in the West. Brooklyn (9-19) is one of the worst teams in the East. Anthony Edwards is averaging 29.4 points per game and just went for 44 against Denver on Christmas before getting ejected in overtime.

The Nets are dead last in the league in offensive efficiency, scoring just 109.3 points per game with a 44.6% field goal percentage. They can't score, they can't stop anyone, and they're playing a Wolves team that has won three straight at home.

The only question is whether 10.5 points is too many. It's not.

Lean: Timberwolves -10.5

The Rest of the Slate

Chicago Bulls vs Milwaukee Bucks

The Bulls are projected at 53.19% win probability at home, but the Bucks have Giannis. This is a stay-away for me.

San Antonio Spurs vs Utah Jazz

The Spurs are 83.65% favorites against a Jazz team that's actively tanking. Wembanyama should feast. Lay the points.

Orlando Magic vs Denver Nuggets

The Nuggets are on a back-to-back after Jokic's historic Christmas performance. Fatigue could be a factor. The Magic at home have value.

Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers

A game between two teams trying to figure out their identities. The under might be the play.

New Orleans Pelicans vs Phoenix Suns

Both teams have been inconsistent all year. Suns should win if Booker and Durant are healthy, but nothing is guaranteed with these rosters.

Post-Christmas Betting Notes

The day after Christmas is historically a weird spot for NBA betting. Teams that played on Christmas are on short rest. Teams that didn't are coming off multiple days of rest. The travel schedules are uneven.

Look for fatigue spots. The Nuggets, Knicks, Timberwolves, and other Christmas Day participants might be a step slower tonight. If you're betting totals, that often translates to unders.

The Bottom Line

Timberwolves -10.5 is the play of the night. Brooklyn is awful, Minnesota is rolling, and Anthony Edwards has something to prove after his Christmas ejection.

Mavericks -3 is also appealing if you want to ride the Cooper Flagg hype train. The rookie is on fire, and Sacramento has no answer for him.

And if you're feeling frisky, the Knicks covering 6 against Atlanta has solid value. New York is playing with house money after that comeback win.

Enjoy the action.
